Florence Pulse Privacy Policy

Florence Pulse is a daily email newsletter serving the Florence, Kentucky community and surrounding Boone County area. This privacy policy explains what information Florence Pulse collects from subscribers, how that information is used, and the options available to you.
1. Information Collected
Florence Pulse collects the following information from subscribers:
Directly provided via florencepulse.com: Your email address, submitted voluntarily when you subscribe through the signup form at florencepulse.com.
Directly provided via Facebook: Florence Pulse may collect email addresses through Facebook Lead Ad forms as part of advertising the newsletter on Facebook. Information submitted through a Facebook Lead Ad form is subject to Facebook's own data privacy practices and terms of service, available at facebook.com/policy. Florence Pulse receives only the email address submitted through these forms, which is then handled in accordance with this privacy policy.
Automatically collected: When you receive and interact with Florence Pulse emails, Beehiiv (the newsletter platform) automatically collects usage data such as whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. This data is used to measure newsletter performance and improve content. Florence Pulse does not sell or share this engagement data with third parties.
Florence Pulse does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
2. How Your Information Is Used
Your email address and engagement data are used to deliver Florence Pulse content to your inbox and to improve the quality of that content over time. This includes:
● The standard daily newsletter, sent Monday through Friday
● Occasional sponsored email advertisements, sent no more than once per week Sponsored emails are produced and distributed by Florence Pulse. Your email address is never provided to, sold to, or shared with any advertiser or sponsor.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
Florence Pulse uses Beehiiv as its newsletter delivery and subscription management platform. Your email address and engagement data are stored and processed by Beehiiv in order to send and manage your subscription. Beehiiv maintains its own privacy policy, available at beehiiv.com/privacy.
Email addresses collected through Facebook Lead Ad forms are subject to Facebook's data practices at the point of collection, as described in Section 1. Once received by Florence Pulse, those addresses are stored and managed through Beehiiv in the same manner as all other subscriber addresses.
Beyond Beehiiv, subscriber information is not sold, rented, transferred, or shared with any third party for any purpose.
4. Data Security
Florence Pulse relies on Beehiiv's infrastructure to store and protect subscriber information. Industry standard technical and organizational safeguards are in place to protect data from unauthorized access or disclosure. No system can guarantee absolute security, but reasonable protections are maintained on an ongoing basis.
5. Data Retention
Subscriber information is retained for as long as a subscription remains active. Upon unsubscribing or requesting deletion, your email address and associated engagement data will be removed from the active subscriber list. Residual data may remain in backup systems for a limited period before being permanently deleted in accordance with Beehiiv's data retention practices.
Florence Pulse periodically reviews the subscriber list and may remove email addresses that have shown no engagement activity over an extended period. This is done to maintain list accuracy and deliverability. Subscribers removed in this manner will no longer receive emails from Florence Pulse.
6. Your Rights and Opt-Out Options
You may unsubscribe from Florence Pulse at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link found at the bottom of every email. Unsubscribe requests will be processed within 10 business days, in accordance with the federal CAN-SPAM Act.

7. CAN-SPAM Compliance
All commercial emails sent by Florence Pulse, including sponsored email advertisements, comply with the federal CAN-SPAM Act. This includes a valid physical mailing address in the footer of every email, a clear and functional unsubscribe mechanism, and accurate subject lines and sender identification.
8. Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at florencepulse.com with a new effective date. Subscribers will be notified of material changes by email prior to the update taking effect.
